Quick Searches are designed to make frequent performed queries more convenient. A Quick Search is set up to a query a particular field in a particular layer.
Perform a Quick Search:
To activate: Toolbar, Tools menu
To use:
Activate Quick Search tool. The Quick Search dialog opens.
Select desired Quick Search from drop down list.
Enter a search value or click on the down arrow in the Search Value text box and select a value from the list.
Select an operator.
Select Search.
Results appear in the list box to the right.
Options:
Auto Zoom: when a feature is selected from the results of a search, or if there is only one search result, GeoSync automatically zooms to that feature.
Marker: GeoSync places a marker on the found features.
On Screen: Limit a Quick Search to only features visible on the map view.
Report: Build and display a Selection Report based on search results.
Zoom Selection: zoom to a selected feature from the results list box.
Create a Quick Search:
To activate: Settings / Quick Search tab
To use:
Open Settings. Select Quick Search tab.
Select Add.
Enter a name for the new Quick Search and select OK.
Click on the right side of the blank field next to Search Layer to access a drop-down list of the project's layers.
Choose desired layer from list.
Click on the right side of the blank field next to Field to access a drop-down list of the selected layer's fields. Select a field. This is the search field.
Click on the right side of the blank field next to Search Option and select a default operator.
Click on the right side of the field next to List Field to select the field whose values are displayed as results when a Quick Search is performed.
Select Apply and OK to close the Settings dialog and save the Quick Search.
