There are three different levels of editing permissions available in the GeoSync users set up. To log into a GeoSync project, a user name and password are required. Restrict or allow editing capabilities according to the user type selected.
GeoSync User Types are:
Read Only: Opens a GeoSync project in a “view only” environment. Data and project settings can not be edited. Querying and printing maps is allowed in this mode.
Full Editing: Opens a GeoSync project with the ability to modify data in an existing project. Changes to the project, such as adding layers, new map tips, or changing colors, will be discarded upon exiting the project.
Administrator: Opens or creates a GeoSync project with the ability to modify both the data and the project. All changes will be saved, if the project is saved before exiting the program.
To Create Users:
Select Users
Type in the user name and password
Select Add User
Type in the user name, password, and verify the password
Select O.K.
Select the new user from the users list
Assign the security level
Verify password
Select update to save changes
