Activate |
A tool is Activated by moving the pointer over the appropriate icon and clicking once. |

Select and Select Multiple |
To select an map feature, option, menu item, combo box item, file, etc..., move the pointer over the item and left-click once. There are two ways to select multiple items at one time: To select a continuous list of items, select the first file, and then while holding the Shift key (on the computer's keyboard) select the last file in the list you want; to select multiple files that are not continuous, hold the Control key (on the computer's keyboard) and select individual items. |

Hover |
Move the pointer over the desired item to reveal an alias. Hovering over an icon on the tool bar will reveal its name. |

Click - Right, Single Left, Double Left, Click and Hold |
When the instructions say, simply, "Click", assume that this means to click the left mouse button once. Certain activities will require that you left click twice (i.e. to open a file) or right click once (i.e. to reveal options related to that item/object) and the help file will instruct you accordingly. When the instructions say "Click and Hold", click and hold down the left mouse button. |

Scroll |
Along the right margin of a dialog or drop-down box, there are at times a scroll bar. By moving the pointer to the scroll bar and holding the left mouse button down, you can slide the bar up and down changing the viewable content. |

Drag |
Move the pointer to an item and, holding down the left mouse button, move the pointer (and the now attached item) to the desired location and release the left mouse button. |

Browse / Browse Button |
When adding a layer or setting up file paths in GeoSync, a Windows Explorer dialog will open that allows you to select the computer, drive, folder and, when required, the desired file. |

Minimize / Move Dialog |
Depending on screen, dialogs may need to be minimized or moved so that desired tasks can be performed. To minimize a dialog, select the third button from the right in the top right corner of the dialog. To move a dialog, click and hold the left mouse button along the top of the dialog, then drag the window to desired location. |

Resize Window |
Some dialogs in GeoSync can be resized by moving the pointer over the lower right corner of the dialog. If the size can be changed, the pointer becomes a double ended arrow. By clicking and holding the left mouse button, and then moving the pointer, the dialog can be resized. |

Run Tool |
In the Layer Tools dialog, select Run Tool to activate any Layer Tool. |
