To activate: Edit menu / Edit Layer
When editing a line layer, node errors are highlighted on the map, which aids in the detection and eventual “clean-up” of problem areas.
Examples of node errors are:
Dangle (undershoot): A node falls short of an object which it is meant to be connected to. Note: Not all dangles are problems. Roads may dead-end or waterlines may stub off at the end of a line. The tool highlights where lines fall short of another line.
Overshoot: A node lies beyond an object to which it is supposed to be connected to.
The tool highlights where lines should be split at intersections, or where overshoots exist.
To Use:
Select Show Dangle/Undershoot Errors and/or select show intersect/split errors.
Set the tolerance.
Select OK.
