To activate: Layer Tools / Advanced tab
Offsets points in a point layer a specified distance from a line layer. For example, address points offset from a roads layer.
To use:
Open Layer Tools, Advanced tab.
Set the current layer – the points layer to offset.
Activate the Offset Points tool. The Offset Settings dialog appears.
Select the offset side field from the drop-down list. This is a field that specifies left or right for the offset.
Select the distance field from the drop-down list. This field has a number data type that specifies the distance of the offset.
Select the checked field from the drop-down list. A numeric field populated with the offset road MUID.
Enter the tolerance distance that the program will search to find the point to offset.
Select the Target Layer from the drop-down list. This is the layer from which the point is offset.
Note: Filter Checked Items: If this is checked, then the tool searches for a value in the checked field. If the point has a checked value in its record, then the point is filtered out and will not be offset.
Note: The user can offset a selection set of points, rather than the whole layer, if “Use Selection Set” is checked.
